Hollyoaks Galore
The complete set of Hollyoaks was opened up for a full day, for a unique and exclusive tour, including behind the scenes secrets and much much more for 10 very excited Wish children.
Beginning of March 2011 some very smiley faces congregated in the reception lounge of the Lime studios.All name tagged up, cameras and autograph books at the ready, off we excitedly went.
Met by our lovely tour guide and organiser, Nicole Barber-Lane (Myra McQueen) we were immediately taken into the canteen, where all the cast (that weren't filming at the time) were waiting to surprise us all.
To see the children's faces at this point was just priceless, lots of gasps and wide eyed faces coming from everywhere. Camera's flashing non-stop as all the cast delightedly posed for pictures with the excited families.
Just as the children thought they had finished getting their prized pictures with all their favourite cast members, yet another, actor would appear, to join in all the fun and NOISE!
Little superstar Ellis (Tom Cunningham) Rob Norbury (Riley Costello) Rachel Shenton (Mitzee) and Nicole Barber-Lane were our designated tour guides for the day and what professionals they were, not leaving any part of the set unexplored.
Sitting, touching, prodding every inch of the set and props as the families excitedly went along, stopping constantly to take pictures of their favourite sets. Mobs the 'smoothie' bar was a real hit with the children and obviously the dog in the pond (pub) was the winner by a long shot for the mum's and dad's.
After several hours and covering every inch of the set, the exhausted families were treated to a much needed buffet lunch, by now casually chatting away to members of the cast as though they had all been friends for years.
The time came round sadly to say their goodbyes, lots of kisses and cuddles and a few little tears, the families headed for home, armed with magical memories, autographs, pictures and best of all the children's huge smiles.
